Meet the—fish behind the flame

With a B.A. in Digital Cinema and a minor in Communications from DePaul University, Sid Botie set sail from Chicago to New York to find a career that understood the dynamism of visual art.

While working as a PA at Rock Paper Scissors, Sid was entranced by the flame. He began staying past their shift to sit with the flame artist to understand how to make magic. This led to the opportunity to run his own room at Wax and find a passion in VFX supervising — leading teams of artists and working side by side with incredibly talented freelance artists.

Clients include Lindt, Samsung, GE, Verizon, Maybelline, Peloton, Bravecto, Clinique, Chase, Buffalo Wild Wings, Doritos, Amex, and Volvo, among others. Sid has a fully remote setup with state-of-the-art equipment.
